BT Redcare Fire Prevention

Redcare is installed to monitor your fire alarm system. Redcare automatically alerts the alarm receiving centre that a fire has started. This is particularly important since nearly two-thirds of fires break out at night, or when a building is unoccupied. If your alarm is triggered, either through accident or arson, the receiving centre is alerted within seconds and can summon the emergency services as required.

DualCom - Dual Signalling

DualCom is an alarm signalling device that uses both the Vodafone GPRS/GSM networks and a telephone or IP path to transmit the fire signals from any fire alarm system to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) at high speed. Upon receipt of the alarm signal the APC contact the emergency services informing them of the potential fire. Signalling is one of the most critical factors in the design of any fire alarm system. Dispatching alarms quickly and reliably is key to the system’s ability to offer a rapid alert against the threat of fire.

In the event of a fire, DualCom will transmit fire signals via it’s high-speed, primary GPRS/GSM paths. Additionally, DualCom has a back-up path that utilises the PSTN (telephone) network.

GPRS is a high-speed signalling technology used to send and receive ‘packets@ of data. CSL chose to primarily partner with Vodafone for the integrity of its performance in both reliability and speed.
